    Nippon Express opens office in Vietnam’s third largest city Da Nang

    Nippon Express (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. ("NE Vietnam"; Masakazu Shirai, President), a local subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd. (Masanori Kawai, President), on October 1 opened its newest office in the country's third largest city Da Nang.

    As a key economic center in central Vietnam, Da Nang has seen remarkable growth and has become of increasing interest to Japanese companies as a potential site for expansion after Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. Investment by electric equipment manufacturers has been particularly notable, and the need for advanced and varied logistics services is expected to rise in line with the anticipated expansion of even more companies into the city.

    The city's economic prosperity has also prompted improvements in roadways and other infrastructure, boosting its prominence as a major traffic hub within Vietnam and with neighboring countries.

    NE Vietnam's new Da Nang Office enjoys a very favorable location, being only five minutes by car from the gateway Da Nang Airport, 30 minutes by car to Da Nang Port, and about 20-30 minutes by car from the Hoa Khanh and Hoa Cam Industrial Zones. This office will enable NE Vietnam to provide not only air and ocean import/export forwarding but also tailored door-to-door transport service incorporating customs clearance and truck transport to meet the demands of Japanese and other companies expanding into the area.

    In addition, NE Vietnam will expand and enhance its operational functions using this office as a relay point for its Mekong Land Bridge Express ground transport service between Hanoi and Bangkok (operating on part of Nippon Express' SS7000 cross-border ground transport route between Shanghai and Singapore) and its Vietnam North-South ground transport service connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

    Nippon Express will continue providing high-quality logistics and customer service to satisfy the diverse needs of customers in newly developing countries.
